What should you do if your cat food gets recalled?

When you see that your brand of cat food has been recalled, stop feeding it to your cat. Then read the details of the pet food recall, as it may not apply to your flavor or variety. If it does, try to find a new brand of cat food with some of the same ingredients. You want to avoid upsetting your cat’s stomach by suddenly changing its food.

Take the bag of recalled cat food back to the store. You should receive a full refund. Meanwhile, keep an eye out for signs of illness in your cat. If you notice any issues, you may want to see your veterinarian.
